Wow -- so hard to believe that it has been a year and a half since I last blogged.
Lots has changed in that time -- I had another baby, a daughter! As a result it set me back quite a bit in the weight loss department and currently I am at my heaviest.
That is a hard pill to swallow and it took me some time to come to grips with it. As of November 2013 I joined a Biggest Loser weight loss in my community, I don't particularly think I will win first prize but I find it has helped me stay on track. I have faltered of course but knowing your in a competition with others who are in the same boat is actually encouraging; but it wasn't the competition that really kicked my motivation into high gear.
I want to give a huge shout out to my friend Joelene, without her I don't know where I would be. She has pushed me past limits, and pushed me to places I never thought I could go! She has taken on the role of my personal trainer pretty much. We work out together, mostly in her home gym.
We are doing this journey together and I really cherish our friendship and all she has done to help me.
Tonight was the most intense workout I've had, and that's saying a lot considering I have done a number of Jillian Michael's workouts. I ran for 10 minutes doing a speed of 5.5 and also sped walk for 10 minute for a 20 minute cardio work out. I'm not going to lie... I thought I was going to die, I wasn't sure I could do it and several times throughout I felt like quitting. She kept talking to me and it felt like we were just friends visiting which helped to distract me from the discomfort I was feeling.
Someone once told me that 90% of weight loss is in your brain; she then quoted that later on when we did our metabolic weight work out, she said "keep going - your body can do more then your brain thinks" what powerful words, and so true. It definitely resonated with me.
Our metabolic workouts are different each time but tonight it was: squats for 45 sec holding a 15lb weight without stopping, then forward and backward lunges alternating for 45 sec without stopping, then a regular squat for 45 sec... you get the drift -- that coupled with my running on the treadmill, wow! Ouchies. Tonight was heavy on the legs, tomorrow we will work with upper body.
I came home starved so I chowed down on a pomegranate and some trail mix.
I am glad to be back at it and it was her who recommended I started blogging again, I hope this journey can encourage and inspire others to push past limits and to achieve bold goals... I hope you will follow me in my journey:
"From Fat to Fabulous!"
